I was just kidding when, in my last post, I asked if March would go out like a lion this year since it came in like a lamb—the opposite of the old saying. But it did indeed go out with a loud roar, at least around these parts, with high winds, severe storms, and power outages. And now here we are in April, a time for spring showers, hopefully without all the flooding and tornadoes.
In that post I also talked about the idea for Simply Mystical and how it began with me wondering what would happen if a spirit guide fell in love with his human. That is true, but a novel-length work offers the chance to include more than one idea, and another one that I wanted to explore in that book was the notion that we all have the ability to connect with our higher selves. Some may call this intuition or maybe the soul. Whatever you want to call it, it is that part of us that is connected to life beyond the physical realm—to the universe, or the divine, or what have you. I believe we all possess this innate wisdom that we can call on to be our best selves. We just have to learn to access it—to get out of our own way, as Gina’s grandmother would say.
Book 2 in the Edgemont series won’t be ready for a spring release as I had hoped, but I’m much closer to the finish line. I’m now projecting that it will be coming out in late summer, early fall at the latest.
In light of all the atrocities being committed every day in this world, it feels rather trivial to yammer on about my writing process and progress right now, but I will continue to write with the aspiration that my words may alleviate some suffering and provide a little light and joy. And I will hold on to the hope that more people will reconnect with their higher selves to help end the suffering of all beings.
Take care!
